I visited Mama Marija’s over the weekend after a trip to Prahran Market.

The decor is bright and the staff are bubbly. I ordered the Mama’s Mediterranean ($18) and the Tender Crispy Chicken burger ($17). The Mediterranean was well presented and delicious, with a grilled eggplant and paprika relish, Turkish bread and both feta and halloumi cheese it had a good balance of flavours on the plate.

The tender chicken burger on the other hand was not so tender, the chicken strips were a little dry and the burger could use more sauce. The chips were well seasoned accompanied with a rich and creamy aioli. Although i enjoyed the chips, i wouldn’t order the burger again.

I also ordered an Iced coffee to accompany my meal, it was good and arrived in one of those hipster mason jars – no ice cream as requested, just coffee as it should be.

The menu has a wide range of options, but as i’ve discovered it is hit and miss. It wasn’t too busy so if you’re in the area and looking for somewhere to eat, it’s worth a shot.
