Freedom

Treasure is a cave, woven and made

Between sobs of laughter and smiles thereafter

Lustrous tassels, brought in hassles,

Treacherous woes,

Bring earthen tempos.

Yearning for you to see this now,

Possibly through a dangerous vow.

Bring it to me, my nostalgic glee

Stop this callous, through with your malice.

Give me a sake, allow me to wake

Only this strain, burning, stirring

Rushing in vain, when to stop learning?

Mistakes, they prosper aid

Yet, as I see,

They do not fade.

No bountiful springs, or heavenly things,

can see me through.

Nor can the tides or far away skies,

keep me from you.

I do not want no merry sea

I do not want no paradise spree.

For a wondrous love, in a shining dove

Is all that dazzles, a mindless scrabble

Is it too much to ask, for a mellower cask, singing a blue

Please free me to you.

Over twirls of yonder, breaks I wander

Luring me through, wind and back again

Alas!

It is my allusive friend

I’ve been searching and purging, mustier irking

Tugging at cores, surfacing pores.

Unkempt my week,

Looking a freak!

All lonesome, and loathsome

Waiting, waiting, I feel my inflating.

When does this end?

A slow distend, we know so dear.

I plead with myself, please save me from fear.

Mustering stealth, confidence, my wealth.

Out we stroll, with half a goal.

Ready and steady,

Despite feeling sweaty.

Head held high, knowing my why.

Streets are alight,

Once they were fright.

Sights so zealous, come and impel us.

No one can stop me, just let me be.

Here I go, the world says hello!

Corona no more,

out my front door!
